Should be “apparently written by chimpanzees”, because a lot of it is hardly edited. Also a ‘PWP’ warning would be useful.
However, some of it is very well written, in character, and it is not as if the original plots do always make much sense.

Fan-fic does cop a bad rap. I read one defence of fan-fic by a literature professor who loved to write the stuff. I’ve discussed previously how silly the authors who try to block fan-fic of their work are. Someone loved your work, take the compliment already.
